GOOD GAME!!! July 30, 2010 Joseph This is an awesome game. It's better than the first. You get right into the action so no waiting around for things to pop off.
Just as boring as the First. July 29, 2010 Batman If you thought the first game was boring, this one isn't much different. I highly recommend buying xenogears, for the psx. Greatest game of all time.
Its okay. July 27, 2010 Kristy Richardson (DOTHAN, AL, US) Honestly, I suggest you rent it.
It's a good game, but when you beat it, there's nothing to do.
The dynamics of the game could have been improved too.
Cool Game!! July 23, 2010 Northware Its an excellent game, with HQ graphics excellent sound and play mode, like controls and history is so involving that once you sit to play you can't stop until you finished it but unless there you have to download expansions and then... guess what more hours there sitting in front of your huge TV playing :D...
One of my All-Time Favorites July 17, 2010 Ben Perry (Boston, MA) I played all the way through the first Assassin's Creed game and it was good but it did have some outstanding flaws such as the tendency to become very repetitive. The missions were often very similar and there was basically one great way to win fights and you just kept doing that over and over. Assassin's Creed 2 was a upgrade in nearly every way possible:
- It's a beautiful game. The cities were very life-like and immersive, especially on a big screen TV or projection screen. The first game looked pretty good but this one was amazing.
- It was more realistic in terms of how you dealt with the environment. In the first game you died every time you fell in the water, there's nothing stupid like that in this game.
- There were more side missions, collections and an economy. This made the game more fun and longer to play through. The economy element was neat but under-developed and largely unnecessary. I hope in future games they make this economy feature a more central element to the storyline and action of the game.
- There was less time spent outside the Animus. The game kept you in the fun part more of the time, which was in Italy.
- The game was more adult-themed. There was a bit more foul language and sexual innuendo which I thought was realistic and perfectly fine for a game like this. Anyone who shouldn't hear/see stuff like that shouldn't be playing a game with this level of violence either.
- There were a lot more weapons available in this game and that made combat much more interesting. There are now many ways to accomplish the same kill, and mastering that strategy made the game much better.
My only irritation with the game was the fact that in order to really play through everything you had to buy a couple extra missions/chapters. One of them was lengthy enough to be worth the money (sort of) but the other one was a bunch of platforming that I could have done without. I think for $60 you should get everything included. Or if there's an upsell it should be very significant, like extending the game by 25-30%.
Otherwise, I would recommend this game without reservation to any fan of the genre.
