Can't say more than the product reviews say. It's a great receiver. Just be careful on the shipping... It can be sensitive (I didn't have any issues) and I have heard some horror stories.
Great Value Surround Sound June 29, 2010

I had a Yamaha Surround Sound Receiver that lasted about 3 years. It died with power up related issue.
I found this Sony receiver and it was comparable in price and had more features and the set up worked well with the mike that is included to set the speaker levels in the listening area.
The performance has been good and the sound is good for a unit in this price range.
I use a 5.1 setup, but this unit is capable of up to 7.1 and has many settings that I have not yet fully tried. I do recommend this and other Sony products. I use a Sony Handycam, Sony DVR, Sony high speed DVD/CD Burner and a 60 inch Sony HD TV. All products work well together.

I had sony product for years the av system before this was sony. The older one worked fine i upgraded to newer tech. In the past 30 years "sony the one and only"

I really like this product and it gave me the sound that I wanted and was looking for. Truly, I doubt if I would ever be able to use this receiver at its full potential because I live in an apartment building and my neighbors would be complaining :)
All in all... very satisfied... but... the set up instructions leaves a lot to be desired.

Excellent what else would you expet from Sony. This receiver finishes my Sony home theater perfectly! The Bravia Sync took some getting used to, since it automatically picks the best sound for the movie your watching in Blue Ray/DVD mode. Other than that excellent product!
