| Customer Reviews: Will they ever make one of these right? June 9, 2006 Nik (Cleveland, Ohio) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok so after reading all of the other reviews on poor FM Transmitters for PSP - I figured I'd give this product a shot since there wasn't a review at the time.
Features:
The product doesn't weigh much but it's somewhat bulky. The cheap feeling plastic looks nice and glossy, but still cheap. The blue-lit LCD screen is nice and makes the channels easier to read. 7 Channels are better than the other products with only 3. It is a charger also, which is nice on the go. There are built in, fold out, cord management legs on the side of the unit which keep access cord in check.
What went wrong:
You cannot charge your PSP while using the FM transmitter. It creates horrible interference what will hurt your ears while listening to music. It's either a transmitter or a charger, not both. The directions say to keep both your radio and PSP volume low when setting up and for best operation, turn your PSP volume down and use the radio to control the sound. I'd like to ask them if they tested this. You will have to keep your PSP volume to near max to get sound to play. I almost thought the product was broken until I adjusted this. Your radio also needs to be at about half max volume.
Summary:
It is not too bad as an FM transmitter. Sound quality is slightly better than radio but you will still get normal radio interference from time to time. It's good for those of us who want a ton of songs streaming to our radios but don't feel like changing CDs every few songs. I'd recommend this to anyone who fits that description. Either charge your PSP or use the transmitter. It's cheap, it works for the most part, but it leave much to be desired as do most similar products in this category. I hope this helps!
